Fishing Spots
St. Johns River:
310 miles long, see boating page for list of
access ramps. Fishing species of largemouth
bass, bluegill, crappie, redfish, and
flounder.
Lake Poinsett:
located near Rockledge, FL off S.R. 520,
connects to Lake Winder, part of the St.
Johns River chain of lakes. Lake is 4,336
acres with fishing species of largemouth
bass, black crappie, bluegill, and
shellcracker.
Crescent Lake: located near Crescent City,
FL, west shore access off U.S. Hwy. 17,
northeast shore access off C.R. 100. Lake
is 15,962 acres with fishing species of
largemouth bass, black crappie, shellcracker,
bluegill, and bream.
Oklawaha River: Originates at the north end
of Lake Griffin, part of the Harris Chain of
Lakes in Lake County. It is 110 miles long
and flows north until it joins the St. Johns
River near Palatka, FL.
Rodman
Reservoir: Also known as Lake Oklawaha is
located off Hwy 19 in Putnam County, FL. It
covers 9,500 acres and is 15 miles long.
Fish species include largemouth bass, bream,
redbreast and spotted sunfish. For boat

Lake George: 2nd
largest lake in Florida (46,000 acres) which
connects with the St. Johns River, located
in Putnam County near Georgetown. It is a
shallow lake (8-10 feet) with largemouth
bass, striped bass, bluegill and
shellcracker (redear sunfish) and brown
bullhead. Public boat access off Hwy 40 &
Lake George Rd.
Doctors
Inlet: Located near the intersection of CR
220 and CR 224 (south of I-295) in Clay
County, FL. It’s a great stretch of the
river for wade fishing. Fish species include
largemouth bass and redear sunfish.
Black
Creek: A tributary of St. Johns River
located in Clay County, FL. Old Ferry Boat
Ramp serves Black Creek and is located at
the end of Old Ferry Road off CR 209 in the
Doctors Inlet/ Ridgewood area. Parking is
limited. Black crappie, striped bass, and
redbreast and bluegill sunfish are found
here.
Lake Monroe:
Shallow 9,400 acre lake located on north
side of Sanford, FL near Orlando. Several
boat ramps including two near I-4.
Largemouth bass well represented in this
lake.
